In this layout I:
1. Used fall colours
2. Hidden journalling
3. Paper tearing
4. Flowers
5. Layering of pattern papers
6. Chipboard in title
7. Used a Brad in the ribbon on the hidden journalling
8. Inked around the edges of the torn paper and the outer edge of the circle.
9. Used one photo corner.

I did not scraplift the layout but I did use Tammy's layout "Lola" as my inspiration.

The products that were used in this layout are:
MME, Bo Bunny and We R Memory Keepers Pattern Paper
Techniques Tuesday Elements - circle
Cherry Art Chipboard
Thickers
Creativityinc Rhinestone Accents
Prima flowers
Uniball Signo White Pen
Ribbon - Unknown
Marth Stewart Glitter
Versa Fine Ink

My journalling was a letter that I wrote to my father.

A Letter to Dad

Why did you leave me? I was not ready to let you go. Even at 25 I still needed to hold my Daddy’s hand, to have his shoulder to cry on and to guide me in the direction I should follow. I choose to live blind when it came to that horrible disease … cancer. I was so sure you were going to beat it, even though you were in stage 4 by the time we found out. I sat at your bedside everyday. I even expected that my pregnancy would give you the strength to fight and give me the miracle I was looking for. I am not sure if you even knew how much I truly loved you. Oh sure… I told you everyday but I don’t think I ever really showed you. I was always too worried about myself and my own life. I always assumed you knew and that there was lots of time to show you. Then one day…it was too late. You took your last breath in my old bedroom as I was touching your weak, frail hand. I remember telling you “ It’s ok Daddy…I am here.” Minutes later you were gone. You were finally free… free to fly. How could I wish you back into such pain? I just wanted you back for a little longer so that I could tell you how much you truly meant to me, how much I learned from you and that the hugs and kisses you use to give me really meant a lot even though I acted like it was no big deal. You needed to hear that you were my hero.
There are times I believe you have chosen to live on through Corey. I was 3 ˝ months pregnant when you past away. What you did not know was that Corey was never to make it. Those first 3 months of the pregnancy were very touch and go. I was considered to be extremely high risk. I spotted continuously and was told that I would probably miscarry due to some health issues. You slipped away from me on September 30, 1994, a little after 9 pm and from that moment on I never spotted again. 5 ˝ months later I gave birth to a healthy, happy baby boy.
I still miss you so much Dad. My heart skips a beat without you. Someday we will meet again.

Wow Michele, I honestly don't know what to say. The journaling truly touches my soul as I see so many families struggle with the journey of losing a loved one to cancer. Beautiful layout and your expression of love for your father leaves me in awe.

Oh my goodness...this brought tears to my eyes! I've not lost my Dad, but I've watched Dad go through losing Grandpa and that was hard, very hard. This is sooo touching! Lovely work, and what a memory to put aside for the future. Wow.

Michelle, what an awesome tribute LO to your dad. I'm right there w/ you girl since I lost my dad in a similar way in Feb 2005. Yeah, cancer sucks.
