Journaling reads: It was the first year that Tikvah had really shown any interest in the 4-H fair, afterall, she was only two years old. She very quickly established the goat tent as her favorite place to visit. Each day when we went to the fair she took off running to the goats as quickly as her little legs would carry her. One pen of LaMancha goats especially caught her fancy. She told me each day, “Those are MY goats.” We just smiled. Little did we know how prophetic she was! Before the fair was over we had purchased those same goats! Missy and Kalisse came to live on our farm and Tikvah's pet goats were home! This is a photo of one of them, Kalisse, taken shortly after she came to live with us. -- summer 2004
