One of my biggest pet peeves when I cut stuff out on my cricut or whatever are the left over scraps. I designed a 'fast kit' and cut a beautiful flourish for it, and even managed to fit two per sheet of paper so there wasn't a lot of waste. But I still had these scraps that had quite a bit of paper between the cut flourish... and it bugged me to throw it all out. It didn't matter that the store owners were saying to throw out the scraps.
So I took all those scraps (what was left from cutting two huge corner flourishes per sheet from 8 sheets of paper) and used my butterfly punch to punch butterflies using up all the available paper. Then I designed another page (and fast kit) with all those butterflies! Used up all the scraps plus those butterflies provided a wonderful embellishment to the kit without costing the store anything. Each butterfly is actually 2... one glued to the page, the other pop-dotted on top for dimension.
So my challenge to you this month is to create a project where you use die cuts on scraps! Die cut = punches, cricut, sizzix, cuttlebug, silhouette, etc etc etc. Get creative! Post your layout photos on this thread, I'd love to see what you do!
My butterfly example:
I was asked to design a page from the same line of papers to be a second page for a 2 page spread, so I did the same thing on this page... I fussy cut the flowers out of the paper then used the scraps on my cricut to cut the leaves out. The small pink flowers were also cut from leftover scraps on my cricut from the first layout. No more scraps!

The kids in the pictures are not mine... I love designing girly layouts but in this case I designed the pages then realized I had no photos to go with them. One of the ladies that was at the friday night crop said she had photos that would go with the pages, so I "borrowed" the pictures. LOL
