Welcome to the 6th anniversary Scrapbook Dreamer Crop!
Every Monday and Thursday you can expect to see two challenges from the members of the DT.

Remember when you were a child and you'd pass notes in class? Ah, the secrets they contained were so very important. You'd also find or create little tokens of love to pass along to the object of your affection; pebbles, feathers, leaves, drawings... Dreamer, I challenge you to recreate some of that magical time in a scrapbook page. For this challenge you must create a "secret window" that will contain either your journaling for the page or a very special surprise of your own creation. Post the page in the gallery so we can lavish it with love and share it here for a chance to be in the drawing for the crop prizes. You have until March 5 to make a page filled with love!

Rachel, would hidden journaling count as a secret window? I like to use a large tag, journal on it and then "hide" it behind a picture with just a tab sticking out. Is that ok or would you rather it be a window like you used? With the kind of scrapbook I use, those are difficult to see when looking through the book.

for this challenge you need to create a window. It does not need to be double paned like mine is, it can be a single flap, it could be four flaps that lift to reveal a picture, an item, or journaling. I use the same type of albums as everyone else where the page slides in. this is a secret window, it does not need to be looked at everytime and maybe someone will find it charming or surprising in 50 years or long after we are gone. Have fun with it - remember it is a challenge!

Journaling reads: The kids went to WV caving with the Herots the summer after Rachel’s freshman year of high school. Ben started quoting a “Hey Arnold” character who was always telling his wife to make him a sandwich. Rachel kept telling him “no”. Somehow it evolved into “I will make you a sandwich when you get married, not before.” Ben was very precise on the kind of sandwich -- sweet bologna with Provolone cheese and a tiny bit of mayo on Potato Bread. So Rachel made the sandwich and gave it to him at the reception. What fun! And how special to have a cousins like that!!

I'm not sure if the layout I'm working will work for this challenge. So I'll let you decided, I have made what looks like a card with my photo on the outside put a small tab to open the card and plan to place my journaling under the photo let me know if this will work.

that's strange sharon - I don't know what happened.

mom, as long as it's not just hidden journaling in a pocket, it's fine. I should open sort of like shutters - so something needs to lift to see the picture - could be one lift, could be two (like mine), could be a bunch - 6+ it's up to you
