For this months how to I would like to show you how to create a negative space using glimmer mist, you can use other mediums too, but I just love the glimmer! biggrin.gif

Most shapes are easy to print off from word, I used stars, you can use any shapes to fit your project hearts look great too!

so gather up your supplies

you will need: Cardstock or Patterned Paper ( I think it works best with a plain background)
A pen
needle and floss
glimmer mist or mists you can use more than one colour
re-positional glue (optional)

here we go...........

I printed my stars from word and cut them out

because of the shape the corners were lifting up and I needed a clear edge, so I sprayed some repostional glue on them just to hold them down while I sprayed.

Spray over your design you can use 1 colour or 3 it's up to you and your design.

wait for the mist to settle you can speed up drying with a heat gun but I didnt as I was worried it would set the glue on the paper stars!!!!! Carefully peel away the stars

TA-DA here is your negative image biggrin.gif Next you need to just dot around the edge so you can pierce hole evenly to help with even sewing. I have a crafters workshop template I used and I dotted every "other" hole. try not to stitch too close together as you can rip the paper

Next pierce all the holes and you cane start sewing, I used a regular running stitch and then just backed up afterwards, use backstitch if you prefer.

And here is the finished piece

And a couple of layouts

Nancy, I love glimmer mist now! I buy white flowers and use glimmer mist to make them the color I need for a layout.
