Michele won with her awesome mini album

Hello, I'm a 40-something young at heart person who feels like I just
got started doing everything fun. smile.gif Got married to my hubby
James in 2003, and we made the best little baby ever, Kevin, who is now
a toddler and who fills my life with excitement and joy.
I work a day job only because we need the money to fund our fun times.
wink.gif As a family we like to participate in a historical re-creation
group, the Society for Creative Anachronism, learning about medieval
times and having fun with that... I like sewing and making costumes,
learning to cook medieval feasts, calligraphy and medieval illumination
(painting manuscripts and scrolls). My hubby likes to learn fencing and
study ancient weaponry. We also do a little camping now and then (well,
before our son was born haha).
I started scrapbooking in the beginning of September. I had bought some
stuff after our wedding but did nothing with it. I found a LSS not far
from me when I went to renew my driver's license, and got the bug to try
scrappin' again. I bought some more stuff to scrap my son's first
photos, and did my first pages at my first crop at the LSS on Sept 3
2008. I've been seriously hooked ever since!
I've also studied and taught belly dance for the past 10 yrs. I took a
break when my son turned one but my dance troupes continue on and I
dance with them still, and teach occasionally. I love to study with
other dancers and take as many workshops as I can. I especially love to
make dance costumes.
Some of my other interests include beading and making beads, embroidery,
making candles, cooking ethnic foods or eating at ethnic restaurants (my
favs: middle eastern, mexican, Indian and Italian) reading, movies,
music, "armchair" astronomy (I have a telescope but rarely can stay
awake long enough to take it out at night anymore, I blame the kid), I'm
learning to make hats, Science Fiction fandom, anything ancient egypt,
and many many other random things that pop up and interest me.
My day job is with my local city hall, in the office that administers
our CDBG funds and HUD money that fixes up our housing, which can be a
very rewarding job as we help a lot of people in need fix their roofs or
replace crappy energy-sucking furnaces.
I am glad I found SBD and have really learned tons here!
