As I mentioned in a previous post, I am starting a new art inspiration challenge. I took a lot of photos at the Metropolitan Musuem of Art in New York City. I chose items that I found particularly interesting and inspiring from a scrapbooking standpoint. Some of the inspirations might be unusual, like a whole room, or a jar or something. But I thought I would start off easy. This is a painting from one of my favorite painters - El Greco. I just love the bold colors and wonderful shadows and contrasts that he uses. This is not the photo that I took because mine didnt turn out that great, but it is the same painting. It is a view of the Spanish town of Toledo from a nearby mountin. El Greco was from Toledo. He took a little bit of artistic license in this painting and moved the church from the right side of town to the left, because he wanted to include it but couldnt get it into the frame of view he wanted to use.
So, go to it. Use whatever you want - color, theme, feeling - whatever. This is a totally artistic excersise so be inspired by whatever inspires you. I am not going to provide an example until at least mid-month, so that you can let your own imagination run wild without being influenced by what I see.

here is my example:

I used the colors and the contrast of light and dark. I guess I also sort of used the theme, since I was inspired to do a layout about one of the cities that we visited in spain.
Your interpretation does not have to be as quite as literal as mine is.
