March "Mix it Up" Challenge Winner Kathi Rate Topic:

These days the words "recycled" and "repurposed" are the new buzz words for our society...and it's about time!

For the March "Mix it up" challenge I want you to use something recycled from your scrappy hobby on a layout. Your item must be used as a main focal point and not just one tiny little object to meet the requirements of this challenge. It could be packaging from Alpha letters, cardboard from one of your scrappy shipping boxes, or even package inserts from embellishments.

You have until March 31st at midnight to upload your layout to the gallery and link a photo of it back to this thread for a chance at a new charm for your siggy line. Have fun, reuse and recycle!

Interests:I love spending time with my family, though it takes some travelling to do so any more. We have 3 sons and 5 grandsons who live in Texas, Colorado and Idaho. We live in Western Oklahoma, dh is a farmer/rancher (his second career).<br />We also have a BIG pet family...5 dogs 2 housecats and many outdoor cats, a dove, and 2 horses.<br />We love getting together in the Colorado mountains and I love scrapping it...I can relive those memories over and over.<br />I am also into geneaology, a big part of my heritage scrapping.

Ok, this is a REAL STRETCH... I know... so if you want to disqualify it because I did not recycle scrappy packaging, I am totally ok with that! LOL

I *only* drink soda when I scrap. So I was at my LSS crop tonight and drank my soda till it was gone. Then one of the ladies workin' there showed me how to make flowers from soda cans. (I'm writing a how-to for it since it's a cute idea) So I made this project tonight and added a Crop Scrappy Soda Can Flower to my project. LOL (honestly, if it doesn't count that's fine I will do this challenge again most likely anyway!)

Yay, I've got a LO for this challenge. The black border on kraft on this LO came from an Office Max bag in the Sunday paper - one of those 15% off whatever you can fit in this bag deals. I loved the scroll edge on the bag, so I kept it. I'm glad I finally had an opportunity to use it.

Here is one from me....now this layout did not start out for this challenge though...I had been working on this layout for the last 2 days and I was having trouble trying to figure out how I wanted to put it together...well once I had my back turned for awhile Logan took off all the letters and then found these Christmas ornaments that I had stored by my table...he took all the mirrors off of 2 of the ornaments...so instead of throwing everything out I figured this would work perfect for this challenge...I guess I should thank Logan.
